Friendship House of Christian Service is a Faith Based Community Development Agency located in the heart of the Billings’ “South Side” neighborhood. Since 1957, we have served as a family and community resource center dedicated to improving the spiritual, social, emotional and economic conditions of the South Side by providing services and opportunities for children, youth, teens, adults, and families.
Our primary focus is building a healthy community based on holistic family programming. We accomplish this goal by providing the following wrap around service programming: Preschool; Youth Afterschool & Summer Enrichment; Teen Programs; Adult Life Skills & Education; Child, Adult and Family Counseling. What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Program Director that is available to work full time, Monday-Friday, and weekend and evenings as needed. Day in the Life: Administration and Oversight: Oversee and direct Friendship House of Christian Service (FHCS) programming. Hire, supervise, manage, coach and develop assigned Program Coordinators in consultation with the Executive Director and Human Resources. Meet regularly with Program Coordinators of FHCS ministries/programs as assigned. Lead staff team meetings and devotions as directed. Evaluate and report on program effectiveness and lead staff to accountability. Complete Annual evaluations of Program Coordinators and provide support as they evaluate their staff on an annual basis. Interview and approve all front-line program staff in collaboration with Human Resources. Work with Program Coordinators in managing their ministries staff, budget, and impact. Assist in establishing/growing parent/neighborhood advisory boards for each FHCS program. In coordination with Program Coordinators and Executive Director review, implement and maintain Staff Handbook and Parent Handbooks. Track program statistical data for grant reporting purposes. Responsible for making sure all Friendship House student testing, data and reporting is completed, accurate and professional. Proofread and/or edit various correspondence, publications, and grant proposals Engage public and private donors and grantors through individual and public presentations of Friendship House. Complete month end, mid-year and year end duties including compiling and printing reports for the board of directors as necessary for the Executive Director. Actively participate as a member and colleague of Billings Leadership Foundation Executive Team including all planning meetings, agency-wide decisions, and administration of ongoing programs. Review billing, deposits, invoices, and accounts payable and receivable as assigned. Take on special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Executive Director Ensure all assigned FHCS Programs are in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, licensing requirements and grant requirements. Enhance and develop FHCS faith based mission within existing programs through partnerships with other ministries, agencies, and individuals. Grant Management: Work closely with the Development Staff on grant compliance issues that impact our programs/ministries. Work closely with Program Coordinators on managing grant budgets and compliance. Assist Development Staff in grant applications and reporting for FHCS programs. Is This You? Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines. Must be able to interact professionally with students, parents, staff, donors and volunteers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Solid and consistent demonstration of good judgment and discretion regarding highly confidential information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to prioritize tasks during periods of high activity and initiative to seek out additional projects during low activity periods. A positive self-motivated, disciplined and results-oriented work ethic. Proven track record of meeting deadlines and cooperating successfully with others required. Support the mission, vision and values of Friendship House. Be involved in the local faith community in a substantial way. Work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines. What do you need to have to qualify? A College Degree in Ministry, Education, Business, Accounting, Management, Social Work or related childcare or ministry field experience required. A Master’s Degree in Divinity, Theology, Youth, Education, Public Administration, Business or Family Systems preferred. Experience in Business, Ministry and Congregations, or Nonprofits required. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher required. 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role including employee oversight required. Experience using data management software to manage data and files, calculate and analyze numbers, communicate information and produce documents and reports. Adhere to all policies, systems and procedures of the organization especially regarding confidentiality, risk management, and licensing. Participate in required training appropriate to your position. Be able to pass local, state and federal background check and random drug screening. Be a public representative of Friendship House.
