JOB OBJECTIVES: The Program Director executes the approved program to assist youth, host families and birth families in identifying and/or acquiring the skills and self-esteem needed to establish and achieve personal goals. Maintains professionalism in all areas, including confidentiality.
HOURS PER WEEK: Exempt
Regular hours entail 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Must be flexible to meet program needs.
Oversees recruitment and training of and support services to UC parents
Conducts evaluations of UC parents
Coordinates contacts with county case worker, schools, ORR/Federal departments, mental health agencies, and other relevant community entities
Oversees each placement, finalizes individual treatment plans for program youth upon discussion with program staff and host parents, monitors progress on each case, and amends treatment plans as needed
Oversees and provides supervision for individual and family therapy
Works collaboratively with home finder/recruiter
Leads weekly clinical team meetings and weekly UC parent support meetings
Supporting birth families, scheduling home visits, following up upon return from home visits
Provides/arranges for 24 hour on-call availability for participating parents and program youth
Supervises clinical program staff assigned to their branch.
Compiles program evaluation data
Ensures adherence to all applicable county, state, and other regulations
Participates in community liaison activities
Provides/oversees proper record keeping and documentation for all clinical and supervisory activities
Attends weekly staff meetings
Attends required trainings
Reads required books
Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access to Protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. No access will be permitted unnecessarily. The essential job functions as described, herein, dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information.
Performs other related duties as requested by immediate supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer
Experience and Skills:
Masters degree in social work or related field required
Supervisory experience required
Experience with a behavioral approach to treating troubled youth
Familiarity with/understanding of and enthusiasm for the ORR/UC model
Experience with intensive in-home service model
Experience assessing and treating families, children and adolescents
Experience managing the administrative components of treatment (case documentation, coordination with other community agencies, etc.)
Excellent communication skillsverbal and written
Demonstrated coordination and organizational skills
Must meet any required state certification or licensing criteria
Ability to travel to other agency locations as required
Bi-lingual - English-Spanish required. All agency documents and records are in English, so English writing proficiency required. Position itself requires Spanish speaking, writing, and reading proficiency
Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications
Ability to work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children
Word processing: Including responding to e-mails, composing letters, completing computerized documentation, transcribing minutes for meetings, etc.: This involves sitting at a computer for several hours a day.
Completing paperwork -Such as copying, stapling as needed.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Sit in and/or drive a vehicle up to several hours as needed for transportation.
Sit/ride in vehicles, busses, subways, trains - public transportation for lengthy periods of time.
Walk up/down stairs as needed.
Walk to enter/exit subway and other public transportation as needed.
Walk several blocks to get to required location.
