Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Associate Director/Director of Patient Advocacy to join our growing Patient Advocacy team here in Cambridge, MA. The Senior Manager/Associate Director of Patient Advocacy will be responsible for leading global patient advocacy for Agios oncology programs including AML, MDS, cholangiocarcinoma, and glioma. The Senior Manager/Associate Director will develop and implement strategic and tactical plans in partnership with internal cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring alignment across EU and US teams. The Senior Manager will also assess evolving patient advocacy landscape and identify opportunities to develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships.. Key Responsibilities. Advance patient advocacy organization initiatives aligned with Agios' medical, scientific, regulatory, and policy objectives.. Communicate and partner directly with internal customers and cross-functional teams. Passionately represent the patient voice to internal stakeholders. Support and advance disease awareness and disease education in partnership with internal teams and external advocacy groups. Represent global patient advocacy as key member of cross-functional teams and contribute new ideas and approaches to help build the patient advocacy function. Foster strong partnerships with medical affairs, legal, regulatory, commercial, corporate communications, and other functions to ensure aligned objectives and to identify opportunities and needs for advocacy engagement. Actively monitor new developments and thought leader insights in the field of patient advocacy and incorporate such developments, ideas, and strategies into the development and execution of programs. Minimum Requirements. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in science, public affairs, law, communications, or other relevant field a plus. 10+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry or non-profit advocacy organization. Ability to champion the voice of patients and families. An understanding of relevant patient advocacy landscape and industry rules and regulations. A collaborative spirit, the ability to see another's point of view, empathy, and the ability to identify a path forward in ambiguous situations. Preferred Qualifications. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and successfully manage multiple projects. Ability to successfully develop and maintain strong working relationships between both cross-functional internal colleagues and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently. Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to lead and influence without authority. Attend activities and events outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends on occasion.
