Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health is a 64-bed Residential Treatment Center that offers quality behavioral health services to adolescent males and females aged 7-20 with psychiatric, behavioral, or conduct issues. We currently havea Mental Health Tech position available from 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm with rotating weekends. This is a challenging and inspiring opportunity for those who havedirect care experience working with youth in a professional environment to serve as a mentor and positive role model in day-to-day activities in the milieu, ensure the safety and well-being of the residents, and monitor and re-direct residents to support the maintenance of a therapeutic milieu. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in social sciences preferred
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Effective supportive team member
  • Well-developed problem solving techniques
  • Strong display of communication competency
  • Core ability to provide Service Excellence
  • Skill in verbal de-escalation techniques
  • Ability to multi-task in crisis
  • Prior experience with youth in a professional environment preferred
