Per Article 401 of the FEA Negotiated Agreement, a teacher must be at least in their second semester of their second year of teaching OR a first year part time teacher seeking a full time position OR a first year teacher who has been identified as an involuntary transfer for the 2020-21 school year to be eligible to apply. Teachers must also have a satisfactory performance record.

Preferred : Knowledge of rules, procedures, and policies of the District are desired.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Vacancy: Senior Marine Instructor (Officer)/Senior Staff NCO with a 4-year degree may be considered.

  • Must meet all requirements contained in appropriate military regulations and have a letter of approval from the Marine Corps JROTC Program office to serve as a MCJROTC Instructor.
  • Must have attained the following qualifications: Prospective Officers or Senior SNCOs must have a baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited institution; permanently retired from active duty or SMCR; meets Marine Corps JROTC weight standards, high standards of military bearing, appearance, and character.
  • Must be of good moral character and have the mentality, positive personality, physical appearance and condition, bearing, and neatness required for favorable representation of the MCJROTC Program and be comfortable when in daily contact with the civilian community.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of course subject matter and demonstrate the instructional ability required to be a successful instructor to include challenging, motivating, mentoring, and influencing JROTC students to learn and develop leadership, self-reliance, responsiveness to constituted authority, moral attributes, and attributes of good citizenship and patriotism.
  • Must have no personal habits or character traits that are questionable from a security or social standpoint (financial irresponsibility, excessive drinking or gambling, drug addition, emotional instability, etc.).
  • Must have no record of conviction of court-martial, no record of time lost to be made good under 10 USC 972, and no record of civil conviction.
  • Before initial employment, must meet retention medical and mental fitness standards in accordance with applicable military regulations.
  • For continued employment, meet the physical requirements of the school where employed. The tables of weight described in appropriate regulations will apply for both initial and continued employment.
  • Must be familiar with, and be willing to endure, extreme weather conditions the geographical location presents.
  • Must, within the first school year of employment, demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with, and teach, youth in an academic environment meeting FNSBSD standards of excellence.
