Director of Youth and Family Ministry

The Director of Youth and Family Ministry (DYFM) will lead our church in providing opportunities to the church’s children, youth, and families for spiritual growth, service, and fellowship.
In addition, the DYFM will supplement and support the work of the Senior Minister and the church in the areas of worship leadership, church administration, and pastoral care.
Duties and Responsibilities: Report to Core Ministry of Education at its meetings. Coordinate an agenda with the Chair. Report to Church Executive Council at its meetings. Participate in all Church staff meetings. Coordinate, lead, and supervise the education program including: Sunday School (nursery through grade 12, work with Senior Minister as requested on adult opportunities) Be available Sunday mornings to support teachers, students, families. Work with Core Ministry of Education in obtaining teachers and substitutes. Determine, order, and review curriculum with assistance and approval of Core Ministry of Education. Conduct teacher training events. Maintain adequate supplies. Communicate regularly with families, teachers, and church members via all appropriate manners (phone, text, letters, post cards, emails, church media pages, bulletin boards, posters in the church building, etc.). Maintain education attendance and financial records. Coordinate the children’s Christmas program with assistance and approval of the Core Ministry of Education. Study and stay up to date on current information and trends in Christian Education, Christian Formation and Discipleship.
