Description Staff Development LiaisonPrimary Location: CA-California-IrvineFunction:ClinicalDescription The Staff Development Liaison will create framework of educational services that promote the growth and development of its licensed and unlicensed staff. The competence and strength of the staff delivering care directly impacts the quality of care for residents. Opportunities for professional growth enhance staff satisfaction thus impacting recruitment and retention activities. Essential Job Functions Coordinates and provide educational programs for licensed nurses, C.N.As ancillary staff.Plans and develops appropriate educational activities to enhance staff competency.Provides orientation and/or training in regards to clinical procedures as needed.Performs clinical competency evaluations as needed for nursing staff.Provides annual calendar of education activities as approved by Clinical Programs leadership.Coordinates and maintains all documentation required for the Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC).Insures staff education meets all regulatory body requirements.Participates in Performance Improvement Program.Assist Business Development department in offering Continuing Education to the community.Manages student nurse rotations with facility administrators and nursing school program directors.Other duties may be assigned by Clinical Programs leadership.Qualifications: Requirements:Registered Nurse (RN) LicensureOne year experiencein Long Term HealthcareOther Skills:Strong analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work in a team-orientated environment Extensive knowledge of Microsoft OfficeOther Requirements: Travel to programsthroughout the region is required (10-20%)Founded in 1980, The MENTOR Network is a national network of local human services providers offering an array of quality, community-based services in more than 30 states to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain and spinal cord injuries and other catastrophic injuries and illnesses, and to youth with emotional, behavioral and medically complex challenges as well as their families.EOE/AAE
