Vashon Maury Community Food Bank (VMCFB) is a progressive human service organization committed to food as a basic human right. The agency was founded in the 1970 s and became an official 501-C3 in 1991. We are highly regarded in the community, financially strong with substantial reserves and have a responsive, involved board. Our mission is carried out through the provision of groceries and meals to people in need through traditional distribution from the food bank, home delivery, emergency food support, summer lunches for youth and families, and partnerships with many for and not-for-profit entities. VMCFB seeks nominations and applicants for the position of Executive Director. The successful candidate will lead the agency through a critical time of growth as we extend our reach to currently underserved communities. The Executive Director will inherit an experienced staff and an energetic Board of Directors. The Food Bank receives little federal funding and is donation driven. Job Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Food Bank while supervising the 3+ FTE Staff Serve as senior staff to the volunteer Board of Directors maintaining open communication and developing an environment of trust Manage the annual budget, set in concert with the board, of $390K. Provide oversight to annual financial review and tax return Lead both annual and major gift fundraising efforts Actively participate in the strategic planning process and be responsible for execution of the strategic plan. Act as primary liaison to the not-for-profit community on the island and as the food bank s representative with regional hunger mitigation efforts Direct all external relations for the food bank Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor s degree or equivalent 5 years of progressively responsible experience in management Preferred Qualifications Experience in not-for-profit management Experience as senior staff to a board of directors Experience with a volunteer driven organization Master s degree in relevant field Experience with fundraising Experience in managing operations Excellent written and oral communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite Experience in marketing and branding Willingness to relocate to/live on Vashon Island For consideration please submit a cover letter, resume, and the names of 3 professional references to ************************.
