Regular season meets; championship meets to follow, if qualified REQUIREMENTS:Must have completed all Massachusetts coaching requirements which include but are not limited to:Concussion CertificateMust also complete Marblehead School District requirements:,Fingerprinting, CORI Background checkExperience coaching trackCPR and First Aid Certified PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, and the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sitBe exposed to heat, humidity, dust, rain, snow and other weather and adverse environmental conditionsThe ability to travel between locations PREFERRED REQUIREMENTSCoursework in sport coaching and the prevention of athletic injuriesExperience coaching track ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES15-20 hours per week and weekends requiredRegular season indoor track meets; championship meets to follow, if qualified Assumes responsibility for the entire program which includes:Coaching the MHS Boys Indoor Track programImplements and follows district athletic department policiesUnderstanding of MIAA rules and regulationsWorks with the Marblehead High School Athletic Director and Principal with:communicating of Boys Indoor Track Team scheduleVerification of student physical examination requirements of the high schoolPreparation of athletic permission slips and eligibility listsOrganization of middle school communications of the high school Boys Indoor Track program for incoming freshmanSupervises and structures practice during and following periods of team participationRemains with students and supervises them while traveling to away competitionsCommunicate with the Athletic Trainer regarding injuriesMay assist in the care for and oversees the storage of all equipment and uniformPrepares award lists and season recordsAttends all meetings where the program is involved and operates within the policies of the Marblehead School DistrictKeeps informed on current trends in your sport and attends and participates in clinics in your sportMaintains active membership in related profession organizationPrepares list when teams are taken out of school to participate in athletic contestMaintains a positive staff relationship with other coachesCommunicates with players about personal development during the season as well as the off-seasonHolds meeting with parents to inform them about the program as well as your expectations of them and the playersLeads by example regarding promotion of sportsmanshipPromotes the high school Boys Indoor Track program by encouraging participation of players of the upcoming seasonApply and enforce approved student discipline rules during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on tripsCollaborates with sport specific booster organizations Performs other duties as assigned by the Marblehead High School Athletic Director and Principal Position Type: Part-time Positions Available: 1 Job Category : Athletics & Activities > Coaching Welcome to Marblehead High School!
